Linda Sue Albert

Linda Sue Albert, 78, passed away on May 4, 2024.

Bruce was stationed at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka from 1963 to 1965, where he met Linda Sue Zable. Bruce asked Linda Sue’s father permission to marry while standing on the back of the tractor. She joined him at Miramar Naval Station in San Diego, California, where Bruce served as a Civil Service Fire Department personnel, and they were married on November 14, 1965.

They moved back to Kansas but when they told Linda Sue’s dad they were going to take a couple of days off, he told them to go to Topeka and get jobs.  Two days later they were both employed.

Linda Sue retired from Mize CPA and Bruce from Washburn University.

Linda Sue is also survived by her brother, Steve Zabel (Joy), and nieces and nephews, Becky Nelson (Mike), Cody Zabel (Shandra), Stacy Ewing (Tim), and Jay Ewing (Lorraine).   She was preceded in death by her sister, Marsha Lynn Ewing.

A private celebration of Linda Sue’s life will be held by her family.
