View Memorial Slideshow Lindsey E. Taylor, 33, of Holton, KS and formerly of Westmoreland, KS, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Westy Community Care Home. Lindsey was born March 30, 1984 in Westmoreland, KS, the daughter of Neal and Nancy (Clyde) Taylor. She attended Wamego elementary schools and then Rock Creek High School before graduating. She lived in Holton, KS for the last 9 years, and worked at the Jackson County Developmental Services doing several different jobs. She was a member of the Girl Scouts as a young girl, was a very social and caring person, treating people she knew like a friend for life. She enjoyed her pets, especially her cats and doing coloring books. She was very close to her nieces and nephews, was a very joyful person with a wonderful sense of humor. Lindsey always enjoyed life and had a smile despite her challenges. Lindsey is survived by her father, Neal Taylor and step-mother, Vicki Taylor, Westmoreland, KS; her sister, Krista Morris (Dave), Wamego, KS; three step-brothers: Matthew Schlegel, Michael Schlegel, both of Manhattan, KS, Mason Schlegel, Westmoreland, KS; a step-sister, Misty Schlegel, Manhattan, KS; her grandmother, Anna Marie Taylor, Westmoreland, KS; her nieces and nephews: Kassi, Kori, Kacen, Bradyn, Caden, Mackenzie, Bayley; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Taylor, two brothers: Quentin Taylor and Nathan Cowger; and grandparents, Lewis L. Taylor, and Harold and Mary McCollun, A time of visitation with family and celebration of Lindsey’s life will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 10th at Stewart Funeral Chapel of Westmoreland. Graveside inurnment services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 11th at the Westmoreland City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Developmental Services of Jackson County, to benefit its participants, and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, PO Box 48, 66547.
