Lisa Sue Herren, 61, of Topeka, Kansas, formerly of Alma, died Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Stormont-Vail Health Center. Lisa was born on April 18, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Vivian Watson Herren. She attended local schools and graduated from High School. Lisa worked as a waitress and several years at the Alma Manor. Lisa was the family member that always knew everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries. Lisa lived in Denver for 3 years and was a caregiver for a family member with severe Multiple Sclerosis. She was an integral part of their family, and she became very good at caregiving. She made it possible for him to be home for years before he needed to enter a care center. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in McFarland and was an active member of Our Father Lutheran Church while in Denver, participating in weekly bible studies and was involved in the women's groups at church. Lisa is survived by her father, Charles Herren, Alma, She was preceded in death by her mother. Lisa’s will be inurned at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in McFarland, Kansas, at 1:30 pm, Saturday, August 28, 2021. Lisa’s family suggests memorial contributions to St. John Lutheran School, and those may be sent in care of Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home in Alma.
