Marian Elizabeth Bradley, 85, a lifetime resident of Westmoreland, Kansas, passed away June 2, 2018 at the Westy Community Care Home.
Marian was born February 28, 1933 in Westmoreland, Kansas, the daughter of Charles E. and Mabel E. (Whearty) Scott. She attended schools in Westmoreland, graduating in 1951. She was united in marriage to James E. Bradley on December 26, 1962 in Westmoreland. He survives of the home.
Marian was a homemaker and was very active in the Westy Community. She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church, served on the boards of the Rock Creek Valley Historical Society, Rural Water District #2, Rock Creek Watershed District, the Columbian Theatre of Wamego, and one term on the Pottawatomie County Planning and Zoning Board. She always greeted people with her friendly smile and personality.
Survivors include her husband, James “Jim” Bradley of Westmoreland; her children, Scott Bradley of Wichita, KS, and Elizabeth Murray (Kehl) of Westmoreland; a brother, Loran Scott of McKinney, TX; one grandson, Dean Murray; two nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Clara Gayle Strifler.
A memorial service for Marian will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 26th at the Westmoreland United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow in the Westmoreland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Westy Community Care Home, or to the Rock Creek Valley Historical Society, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, KS, P.O. Box 48, 66547.
