Eula Martina “Tina” Trudo, 85, of Wamego, KS passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the Wamego City Hospital.
Tina was born August 16, 1934 in Hawesville, KY – the daughter of Charles L. and Eva (Gibson) Elder. She attended school in Wamego and graduated from Wamego High School
Tina was united in marriage to Franklin G. Trudo on October 21, 1953 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego, KS. Together they enjoyed traveling, camping, square dancing and attending their grandchildren’s sporting events and school programs. Tina was an excellent cook and will be fondly remembered for her bountiful family meals, delicious homemade pies and cinnamon rolls. Tina always made holidays and birthdays special for her family. Her sense of humor and outgoing personality brought joy to those blessed to know her.
In addition to being a homemaker – over the years Tina worked in banking and at a local carpet store. She then operated a home based daycare during which time she had a positive impact on the lives of many young children. In 1989, Tina and Frank moved to the family farm and she devoted her time to family.
Survivors include her four children, Scott Trudo, Wamego, KS, Chris (Diana) Trudo, Wamego, KS, Debbie Hipp (Jim), Albuquerque, NM, and Ron Trudo (Rhonda), Manhattan, KS; two sisters, Charlene Nelson (Ralph), Colorado, and Janice Jepsen, Wamego, KS; eight grandchildren, Lance Trudo (Sara), Brett Trudo (Ashley), Ryan Trudo (Julie), Jessica Trudo (Thomas), Eric Hipp, Adam Hipp, Brice Trudo (Claire), and Lane Trudo (Madison); and three great-grandchildren, Brynn Trudo, Hunter Trudo, and Daniel Trudo.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Frank Trudo; and siblings, Godfrey Elder, Damien Elder, Tom Elder, Herman Elder, Leona Kling, Evelyn Hughes, Betty Willard, Alma Lee Fechter and Verna Roberts.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the St. Bernard Catholic Church. Inurnment for both Frank and Tina will follow in the Wamego City Cemetery. Rosary will be held Wednesday, October 30th at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Memorials are suggested to the foundation of ‘Make a Wish’, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, P.O. Box 48, 66547.
