Rita Faye Geisler, 66, of Westmoreland, KS passed away at her home on Thursday, November 23, 2017 in Westmoreland. On July 16, 1951, Rita, was born in La Crosse, KS to Francis and Dora (Goatley) Solomon. After graduating from La Crosse High School, she attended Friends University and Wichita Technical College where she received a degree as an LPN. She worked various medical jobs in Winfield for the V.A. nursing home and prison. She also worked in Beloit and Salina hospitals. She was united in marriage with David Herman Geisler on June 29, 1984. He survives of the home. Rita loved playing bingo. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing cards, doing puzzles, and growing vegetables in her garden. Rita was a member of Westmoreland United Methodist Church. She is also survived by her three daughters, Tami Britton (Frank), Salina, KS, Beverly Smythe, Kansas City, KS, and Katie Schwyhart (Lee), Arkansas City, KS; a sister, Genita Hughes, La Crosse, KS; a brother, Jerry Solomon (Myrna), Kansas City, MO; two sister-in-laws, Karla Solomon and Agnes Solomon; and five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Arlyn Solomon and Dennis Solomon, and a nephew. A memorial service for Rita will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Westmoreland United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the American Diabetes Association and the Westmoreland United Methodist Church, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
