Robert Wayne Mcdiffett

November 4, 1947 — April 13, 2021

Robert “Bob” W. McDiffett, 73, of Wamego, Kansas passed away April 13, 2021 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.

He was born November 4, 1947 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Pat J. and Norma Jean Beagel McDiffett. Bob attended schools in Topeka, including Topeka West High School. He married Juanita Elaine Hathaway on March 17, 1990 in Rawlins, Wyoming. They made Wamego their home about 20 years ago.

Bob worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber of Topeka for several years before moving to Colorado and working as a coal miner. After moving to Wamego, he worked for Larson Construction until his retirement in 2012. He was also a past member of the United Rubber Workers Union.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and NASCAR races. He especially enjoyed attending his kids and grandkids events. He was also a movie fan, and could always remember historical times and events.

His survivors include his wife, Juanita, of their home in Wamego; two sons: John McDiffett (Cassia), Craig, CO, Russell McDiffett, Craig. CO; three stepdaughters: Donna Gill (Josh), Craig, CO, Doris Ceruti (Steve), Gillette, WY, Debbie Boyle, Westmoreland, KS; one sister, Patti Meade (Chuck), Rossville, KS; six grandchildren: Tiara, Jaci, Kelsey, Ben, Sheldon, Johnny; one great-grandchild, Addison, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Daniel McDiffett.

Family and friends will be celebrating his life on July 4th, 2021. The location and time will be announced closer to date of the event. Memorials are suggested to the Robert McDiffett Memorial (to be designated later) and may be sent in care of Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
