Rosalyn Zillmann

  Rosalyn Ann Zillmann, 69, of Wamego, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Westy Community Care Home in Westmoreland, KS.   On February 23, 1948, Rose was born to Elmer and Evelyn (Rankin) Wuthnow in Lyons, KS.  She attended rural elementary schools and graduated from Lyons High School in 1966.  She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Emporia State University in 1970 and worked in the Topeka area as a secretary for several years.  In 1971, she began working as the secretary for the State Barber Board before working at the College of Veterinarian Medicine at Kansas State University until her retirement in 2004.  She was united in marriage with Paul Zillmann on April 19, 1986 in Topeka, KS.  He survives of the home.   Rose had several hobbies.  She loved to square dance, which is where she met her husband, Paul.  She also enjoyed cross-stitch, macramé, reading and camping. Rose was a member of the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and was active as a leader in Girl Scouts for several years.   She is also survived by a daughter, Tina Zillmann, Austin, TX; two sisters, Marie Paddleford, North Augusta, SC, and Lynnette Wuthnow, Lyons, KS; a brother-in-law, Otto Zillmann (Nina), Olathe, KS; a sister-in-law, Elaine Norman (Wayne), Salina, KS; and six nieces and four nephews.   She is preceded in death by her parents.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. the morning of the service at the church.  Private family inurnment will be in the Wamego City Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Alzheimer’s Association, and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, 66547.  Condolences may be left at stewartfuneralhomes.com.
