Rose Ann (Ebert) Kuhlman, 70, of Westmoreland, KS passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Onaga Community Hospital.
Rose Ann was born August 7, 1949 in Manhattan, KS to Benedict and Amelia Clara Belle (Volmer) Ebert of rural Flush, KS.
Rose Ann was the second oldest of five children. She is survived by her siblings, Stephen (Diane) Ebert, Mary (Tom) Siderewicz, George (Janelle) Ebert, and Donald (JoAnn) Ebert; twelve nieces and nephews; and 22 great-nieces and nephews.
She attended Flush Grade School and represented Pottawatomie County in the state spelling bee in Topeka, KS her eighth grade year. She always took pride in her purple ribbon she received at the Kansas State 4-H Fair for her homemade angel food cake. She attended Flush High School until her senior year. She was a member of the first graduating class of the consolidated School District #323 of Westmoreland, Flush and Blaine. Rose Ann was the salutatorian of her 1967 graduating class. She received her BS in Elementary Education from Kansas State University in May 1971 with a rank of Summa Cum Laude. She accepted a teaching job at Crestridge Elementary in Omaha, NE for one school year.
She married Kelvin ‘Kelly’ Kuhlman on December 1, 1975. They managed the Shady Rest Campground in Green River, Utah before moving to Lincoln, NE to help manage the Nutrition Depot. In 1984 they moved to Apache Junction, AZ where Rose Ann and Kelly helped many elderly ‘snowbirds’ in various campgrounds with household tasks, shopping, doctors appointments, etc. Rose Ann loved helping others and spending time with family, especially her nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. She was a self-taught accomplished knitter and enjoyed giving away her labors of love.
Rose Ann was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a nephew, Jerome Siderewicz.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Kelly and Rose Ann will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Flush with a Rosary taking place beforehand at 10:30 a.m. Inunrment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph Catholic Church, or the Wellsprings of Westmoreland Care Hom, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
