Ruby Fay Pauley, 94, of Wamego, KS, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 3, 2018.
Ruby was born to Herman A. and Blanche Fleming Blume on September 1, 1923, in the Broderick community north of Wamego. She attended Broderick and Westmoreland schools. She married the love of her life, James R. Pauley, on July 26, 1944. They lived on a farm north of Flush in Myers Valley, before moving to Wamego in 1954. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2003.
Ruby was a homemaker and a member of 4-H and the Merry Makers Club for 56 years. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, gardening and flowers, traveling, and playing pitch. Mostly, she enjoyed being with her family.
Among survivors are her two children, Duane Pauley and Deanna Meyer (Cliff), all of Wamego; two grandchildren: Chad Meyer (Tobi) of Kansas City, KS, Lisa Thompson (Corey) of McFarland, KS; 3 great-grandchildren, Cody and Morgan Brich and baby Thompson (arriving September). She was also preceded in death by her five siblings, Russell Blume, Guy Blume, Pearl Songs, Virgie McKinnon, and Argyle Blume.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pauley will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 6 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, with family greeting friends prior to the funeral beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Wamego City Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Friends of the Park c/o Wamego Community Foundation, toward Christmas lighting. Condolences may be left at www.stewartfuneralhomes.com.
