Sandra Faye Heideman, 66, of Alma, Kansas, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 8, 2021. She was a life-long resident of the area. Sandy was born on June 12, 1954 in Topeka, KS the daughter of Donald and Elna (Garanson) TenEyck. She attended local schools and graduated in 1972 from Alma High School. Sandy married Dickie Bill Heideman on October 21, 1972, in Alma. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1999. Sandy worked over 40 years doing day care for children in her home. The children in her daycare were all very special to her. She loved to interact with them and especially enjoyed reading and singing with them. Sandy was also devoted to her own family and was always present at her children’s activities even if that meant taking the daycare kids along with her. She loved to read and was known to share numerous Dr. Phill quotes. More than anything, she loved to spend time with her grandkids. Sandy was a woman with a strong faith. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Sandy is survived by her parents; her children, Kristin Coon (Scott), Alma, Branen Heideman (Brandy), Alma, and Kylie Mulanax (Brian Quackenbush), Dewitt, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Nathan Coon, Bailey Coon, Shaylee Heideman, Keaton Mulanax, and Evan Quackenbush; her sister, Susan Johnson (Richard), Olathe, and her brother, Jeffrey TenEyck (Irene), Dallas Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. Sandra was also very close to her cousin, Mary Moore (Steve) of Lawrence. Graveside inurnment services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, April 16, 2021, at the Alta Vista Cemetery, west of Alta Vista, Kansas. Reverend Robert Grimm will be officiating. Sandy’s urn will lie-in-state on Thursday, beginning at 4:00 pm, at the Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home in Alma. The family will greet friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
