Shirley Wiebers, 74, of St. George, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
Born May 22, 1950 in Sterling, Colorado, Shirley was the daughter of Elmer and Ramona (Spanjer) Jernberg. Shirley was married to Gale Wiebers from 1972 to 1993.
Shirley was a 1968 graduate of Yuma High School in Yuma, Colorado and earned her Associate Degree from Northeastern Junior College in 1992.
She worked as a truck driver hauling ag commodities including grain, silage, and fertilizer in Eastern Colorado for most of her life and raised dairy goats and numerous other livestock at her family’s farm. After retiring, she moved to Kansas in 2020 to be closer to her son and his family.
She enjoyed quilting and reading and was an active member of the Wamego Kaw Valley Quilters Guild and many book clubs. She also loved baking, gardening, and cheering on her grandkids at their various activities.
Survivors include her son, Justin Wiebers (Kristey) of Wamego; four grandchildren (Annika, Alena, Marek, and Amaree;) siblings Betty Jo Searcy of Huachuca City, Arizona and Keith Jernberg (Patty) of La Junta, Colorado; nephews Matthew Searcy of Wahiawa, Hawaii, and Anthony Lusinger of Denver, Colorado; and niece Chelsea Jernberg-Clouse of Sterling, Colorado.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego.
The family will greet friends and family on January 22, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Iron Clad in Wamego.
