Tamzen "Steege" Shupe

   Tamzen Adair “Steege” Shupe, 63, of Alma, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday (June 7, 2023) at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.

   Born November 9, 1959 in Clay Center, Kansas, Tamzen was the daughter of Jerry and Ann (Norquist) Kendrick.  She married Harold Steege on November 6, 1993 in Alma, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on April 17, 2014.  She married Kevin Shupe on June 30, 2020 in Circleville, Kansas.  He survives.

   Tamzen was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Alma.  She enjoyed crocheting, her car rides with Kevin and taking care of the animals on the farm.  She cherished the time she shared with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She will be remembered for her cooking and baking and her skill at decorating cakes and cookies.

   She was employed for many years as a custodian for USD 329 in Alma.  Tamzen was also employed for Janice’s Cakes and Cookies as a baker and decorator.

   Survivors include her husband, Kevin; two sons, William Davies (Misty) of Miltonvale, KS and Colt Davies (Michael) of Colorado Springs, CO; nine grandchildren, Robert, Thomas (Jordan), Dallas, Dominic, Daniel, Derrick, Nicole, Violet and Kyle; her mother, Ann Kipp of Miltonvale, KS; a brother, Bill Kendrick (Anita) of Edson, KS; a step daughter, Leslie Shupe (Michael Stover) of Houston, TX; a step son, Tye Shupe (Chelsea) of Circleville, KS; an Aunt, Mary Kendrick of Lyons, KS; and several nieces and nephews.

   She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Harold Steege; an Aunt, Sharon Aldridge (Don) and an Uncle, Dave Kendrick.

   Cremation arrangements are in the care of Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home.   No services are planned.

   Memorial donations are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation and may be left with Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home, P. O. Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
