Teresa Mary Carroll, 81, of McFarland, Kansas, formerly of Burlingame, died Thursday, November 25, 2021, at her home. She had moved to McFarland two years ago to be close to her family.
Teresa was born January 28, 1940, in Morrison, Missouri, the daughter of Edward and Louise Gerard Lackman. She attended local schools.
Teresa married James Alfred Carroll on February 5, 1966, in New Haven, Missouri. After fifty-five years of marriage, he survives at their home.
Prior to her marriage, Teresa worked sewing tents at a tent factory in Missouri. After her marriage to James, she became a homemaker. She loved to cook, sew, and do crafts, but her passion was her church and her family. She cherished the time she could spend with her grand and great-grandchildren and was active at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Burlingame and then later, as she was able, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Alma. She also was a past member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club and volunteered at the Catholic school.
Teresa is also survived by her children; Sheila Walton (John), McFarland, Patrick Carroll (Aimee), Topeka, and William Carroll, Osage City; her grandchildren, Juliann Manka (Joshua), James Walton, Johnathan Walton, Rose Walton, Theodore Walton, Ian Carroll (Natalee), Ciara Carroll, and Nicholas Carroll; her great-grandchildren, Oliver Manka, Addilynn Manka, and Easton Carroll; and her sister, Josephine Meyer, of Washington, Missouri. Teresa was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Tony Lackman, Rose Schnauss, Bill Lackman, Catherine Meyer, Stephen Lackman, Mary Stewart, Juliann Lackman, and Hedwig Lackman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Alma, Kansas. Father Ratna Swamy Nannam will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. The family will greet friends, at the church hall, on Tuesday, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and a Rosary prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. They suggest memorial contributions to the Knights of Columbus, and those may be sent in care of Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.campanellastewart.com.
