Turie M. Mahlman, 72, of Blaine, Kansas, passed away at 4:50 p.m. Monday (January 31, 2022) at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas.
Born August 6, 1949 in Cody, Wyoming, Turie was the daughter of Jack and Turie (Loftsgarden) Saxton. She grew up on the TE Ranch, near Cody, WY, and developed her love of horses as a child and kept it until her last day. She also loved fishing, camping and tending to her vegetable garden. Turie enjoyed helping others and had donated over 8 gallons of blood with the American Red Cross.
Turie was employed as a cook for Laramie County School District #1, in Cheyenne, WY for 20 years. She then moved to Kansas and worked at the Onaga Hospital and other schools.
Survivors include her mother, Turie Saxton of Cody, WY; two daughters, Michaela Lavender of Cheyenne, WY and Kasie Mahlman of Wheaton, KS; four grandchildren, Michael Brasel, Shaia Coley, Jade Lovelady, and Nicholas Lavender; a great grandchild, Carson Dixon; a sister, Vicki Morgan of Cody, WY; and 4 Nieces and 1 Nephew.
Turie was preceded in death by her father, Jack; and her Best Friend, Jim Damme.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego, Kansas.
No services are planned.
