Vincent D. “Vince” Sunnenberg, 66, Winfield, KS passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 in Winfield. Vince was born on January 29, 1951 in Axtell, KS to Harry and Elizabeth (Thomas) Sunnenberg. He graduated from Seneca High School in 1969. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and two brothers, Johnny and Hank. Survivors are four sons: Weston, WA, Corey, Winfield, KS, Cody, Winfield, KS, and CJ; two sisters: Vera Ross, Wamego, KS, and Rita, NE; and two brothers: Jerry, MO, and Don, KS. Vince was a carpenter the majority of his life. Putting up sheetrock was his forte in that field. He was very proficient in other aspects and gifted with many talents including baseball growing up, playing pool, fishing and hunting. Life in itself can be an arduous task, no different for Vince, but he wasn’t impeded by lack of effort to conquer that mountain. He wore his heart on his sleeve and as in life, it wasn’t always a fruitful decision. A chapter in life is now closed. A Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego with military honors. Private burial services will be held at the Wabaunsee Cemetery.
