Wade Stewart Parkhurst, 35, of Wamego, KS passed away at his home Tuesday, December 26, 2017.

  On July 17, 1982 Wade was born to George Parkhurst and Nalita Stewart in Manhattan, KS.  Wade worked various jobs including a store manager, para-educator, an amateur wrestler and security guard.  Wade was down to earth and was a gentle soul that will be missed.

  Wade loved his family, especially his daughters.  His family was always his biggest fan and he was their rock star. He was always helpful with animals and doing work on the farm.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, searching for rocks and coins, and riding four wheelers.

  He is survived by a daughter, Freya Parkhurst, Wamego, KS; a step-daughter, Jackie Hopkins, Wamego, KS; his fiance, Sara Hopkins, Wamego, KS; parents, Nalita Wright (Ron), Wamego, KS and George Parkhurst (Debbie), Topeka, KS; a brother, Richard Smith (Samantha), Seward, NE; a sister, Robin Kluck (Travis), Columbus, NE; a step-sister, Liana Wright, Lawrence, KS; two step-brothers, Casey Wright (Mati), Galveston, TX and Aaron Wright, Topeka, KS; four nieces, Jasmin Straub, Mackynzie Morris, Sarah Yoho, and Abagail Wright; and two nephews, Ethan Straub and Austen Wright.

  He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Warren and Ferne Stewart.

  A celebration of life for Wade will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Wamego.  In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Freya & Jackie Education Fund, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego KS 66547.
