View Memorial Slideshow Wayne Hans Jepson, 69, of Wamego, KS passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 at his home. On February 17, 1948, Wayne was born to Lloyd and Lillian (Small) Jepson in Topeka, KS. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1966 and enlisted in the United States Navy a few months later. After 6 years of service, Wayne was honorably discharged and became an electrician for Goodyear, and then for Westar Energy for 29 years. He was united in marriage with Ann Michelle Graf on October 7, 1977 in Topeka. She survives of the home. Wayne enjoyed doing anything in the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and tending to his vegetable garden. He was known as the “go to guy” when something needed fixed. He was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. Wayne was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Electrical Worker Union #304. He is also survived by his mother, Lillian Jepson-Harris, Holton, KS; three daughters, Amanda Parthemer (Josh), Frankfort, KS and their daughter Hailey, Jennifer Griffin (Brian), Wamego, KS and their children Brayden and Sydney, and Michele Pittenger (Darren), Salina, KS and their children Nicholas, Kearstin and Jarrett; two brothers, Dale Jepson (Gail), Meriden, KS, and Norman Jepson, Oklahoma; and a sister, Christine Case, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his father. Funeral service for Wayne will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Burial will follow in the Wamego City Cemetery. Wayne will lie-in-state on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will follow from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Wamego Area Veteran’s Memorial and the Wamego Indoor Pool Fund, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
